Lena J. Marderosian is a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles (History major and minor in English Literature). She obtained her law degree from Southwestern University School of Law and graduated on the Dean's List. She began her legal career in 1982 in a criminal defense firm handling various misdemeanor and felony cases. Lena later directed her practice toward civil litigation, handling a variety of matters including creditor's rights, breach of contract, employment discrimination, family law and personal injury. Since 1995, Ms. Marderosian has concentrated her extensive litigation experience on commercial business litigation. Prior to joining Bradley & Gmelich, she was associated with a civil litigation firm in downtown Los Angeles where she represented a large international corporation client in a variety of cases including wrongful termination, discrimination, commercial contract disputes, and a myriad of business matters. She successfully defended a $200 million case for unfair trade practices, unfair competition and violation of the Federal Telecommunications Act in a complex, four-week trial in the United States District Court. After having won at the trial level in the United States District Court and again in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal, Ms. Marderosian prepared and filed a successful brief in opposition to a Petition for a Writ of Certiorari in the United States Supreme Court in the matter of Evans v. AT&T Corporation, MCI Corp. and Pacific Bell, Case No. 00-1527, on behalf of two of the largest telecommunication companies in the world. Ms. Marderosian's clientele covers a broad spectrum of businesses including private security guard companies, maintenance, landscaping, bio-pharmaceutical and commercial property owners. She is the Partner-In-Charge of Bradley & Gmelich's Law and Motion, and Appellate Department in addition to handling her own cases through trial. She is a member of Bradley & Gmelich's Employment Law Team where she has actively participated in the defense of numerous Class Action employment cases, as well as maintaining a caseload defending against wrongful termination, discrimination and harassment claims. Ms. Marderosian has served as Judge Pro Tem for the Los Angeles Superior Court, for which she received a letter of recognition by the Supervising Judge. She also serves as a "CRASH" Settlement officer for the Los Angeles Superior Court in Glendale. Additionally, she is active in various community service organizations, using her litigation background as a basis for several public speaking engagements for various groups including a women's service organization on the protection of privacy rights in a high-tech society and on environmental issues. She participated in a panel discussion regarding ethics in the work place which was hosted by an organization for post-college, young professionals. In addition to being admitted to practice in the State of California, Ms. Marderosian is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Central, Eastern, Northern and Southern Districts, the United States Court of Appeal, Ninth Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. She has also been named to the list of Southern California Super Lawyers, for the last two years, an honor bestowed upon only 5% of the lawyers in Southern California.
